Nouble turns down Crawley move

Former Gillingham loan striker Frank Nouble has turned down a proposed move to fellow League Two side Crawley Town.

Crawley and West Ham are understood to have agreed a fee for the twenty year old striker, however he has decided to stay at Upton Park and fight for a place in the West Ham side.

The England Under 19 international scored on his first start for the Hammers against Derby at the end of December and hit the net five times for The Gills in fourteen appearances whilst on loan.

Nouble, who is out of contract at the end of the season told Sky Sports:

“I am flattered by the interest from Crawley, but I have turned down the chance to move there,”

“I have scored in the Championship and I did well out on loan at Gillingham and I want to fight for my place at West Ham.”

Gillingham fans would love to see the pacy striker back at Priestfield, however that is looking less and less likely.

Meanwhile, it seems certain that there won’t be any transfer activity involving The Gills on transfer deadline day with Oliver Lee, son of former England international Rob spending the week on trial.

The West Ham United midfielder has been told he is surplus to requirements at Upton Park and will be released when his contract expires in the summer.
